Oh hell.

A year ago, our struggle with ADHD became official - our oldest daughter, age 5, was diagnosed with ADHD after concerns were expressed by her kindergarten teacher.

In the last month, our struggle has morphed into an all-out war - we have assumed my husband has ADHD and passed it to our daughter, but I was diagnosed with ADHD-Inattentive type in September and our youngest daughter, now 5 and in kindergarten, is exhibiting signs of the condition as well.

Our family does not function like other families - we knew this, but it was a source of shame and we had no direction to fix it except to keep trying harder. Now I feel like we know where the problem is - we're not a normal family and we can't keep trying to run our household like one and hope it works out for the best.

Here's hoping we can find some new answers.
